Market witnessed a positive trend today. The benchmark indices closed at a record high on 15 February 2021 led by Real Estate and Financial Stocks.
At close, the Sensex was up 609.83 points or 1.18 per cent at 52,154.13, and the Nifty was up 151.40 points or 1 per cent at 15,314.70. About 1337 shares have advanced, 1648 shares declined and 149 shares remain unchanged.
On the Nifty 50 index, Axis Bank (5.81 per cent), ICICI Bank (4.07 per cent), Bajaj Finance (3.63 per cent) and SBI (3.51 per cent) were the top gainers for the day, while HDFC Life (-2.2 per cent), SBI Life Insurance (-2.19 per cent), Dr. Reddys Labs (-1.71 per cent) and TCS (-1.60 per cent) were the top losers for the day.
On the Sectoral front, Metal, Pharma, IT and Energy indices ended in red, rest all the sectoral indices ended in green led by Nifty Bank which was up more than 1200 points or 3.32 per cent at 37,306.25.
The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices were up 1.40 per cent and 0.37 per cent respectively.
Author’s View: The technical indicators suggest a further upside in Nifty. 15,450 – 15,500 should be the next target on the upside. On the downside, 15,150 – 15,200 level will act as strong support for the index.
