The winning streak continues in benchmark indices and Sensex and Nifty again hit a fresh record high.
Nifty was up 136.15 points or 1.02 per cent at 13,529.10 while Sensex was up 494.99.42 points or 1.09 per cent at 46,103.57.
On the sectoral front, Nifty Realty (1.47 per cent) and Nifty Bank (1.48 per cent) outperformed, whereas Nifty Metal (-0.53 per cent) and Nifty Auto (-0.05 per cent) witnessed selling pressure and closed in the red. All other sectors ended with minor gains.
On Nifty index UPL (4.19 per cent), Asian Paints (3.42 per cent), IOC (3.19 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (-2.71 per cent) were the top gainers for the day, while Hindalco (-1.91 per cent), Shree Cements (-1.43 per cent), UltraTech Cement (-1.40 per cent) and Wipro (-1.15 per cent) were top losers for the day.
Author’s View: The market is trading in an overbought zone, hence fresh positions should be made cautiously. We would recommend traders to book profit and remain light on positions.
