Petrol and Diesel rates remain unchanged; Check prices in metro cities

Central government makes up for INR 32.98 per litre of the price of petrol in Delhi and sales tax or VAT of the state government constitutes INR 19.55. Fuel rates are revised on a daily basis in line with benchmark international price and exchange rates.

After seeing rate hike for 12 consecutive days since February 9, oil companies kept the prices of oil steady for two consecutive days till Monday, February 22. However, on Tuesday, February 23, petrol rates in Mumbai crossed INR 97 per litre, the most expensive in four metro cities.

Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged across the country on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, after rising to fresh new highs.

New Delhi - 90.93

Kolkata - 91.12

Chennai - 92.90

Mumbai – 97.34

Bengaluru - 93.98

Diesel rates per litre in Metro cities:

New Delhi - 81.32

Kolkata - 84.20

Chennai - 86.31

Mumbai – 88.44

Bengaluru - 86.21

Among the two cities where petrol price breached the INR 100-mark last week, the key auto fuel was at INR 101.59 in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar, while diesel was available at INR 93.61 per litre. In Madhya Pradesh’s Anuppur, cost of petrol stands at INR 101.34 per litre and diesel is selling for INR 91.81.
