Mumbai – Police personnel protect the city 24X7 all the year. They are deployed at every nook and corner of the city to maintain law and order. But they do not get a chance to celebrate festivals with their near and dear ones. Many times, they cannot even go home for a whole day. Shanta Pote, the wife of a head constable, says, “He does not come home for a whole day. He has to go on duty or patrolling even during festivities. We are deprived of his presence during the festivals.” The cop’s son, Akshay, says that he feels lonely as his friends' fathers are at home during festivals but his father has to report for duty. Police officers are also employees and they should also get appropriate leave so that they can be with their families on happy occasions. Mumbai Live salutes these duty-bound honest security personnel who give up their happiness to bring smiles on the faces of their countrymen.
