It’s World Photography Day!
What is photography to a Mumbaikar if it isn’t about capturing the spirit of the city?
We asked some to share their work and they left us speechless.

Rohit Lotankar:Rohit captures the spirit of a mother and how the city cradles one in her arms by the seashore, exposing us to an ocean of opportunities. Here’s what he has to say about it "कहाँ से पड़ती काँटों की आदत? हमें माँ ने हमेशा अपनी गोद में सुलाया है।"

Manikandan Singaravel:Manikandan captures a different side to the city. Here’s an interesting picture of some fishermen on the beach.

In another photograph, he captures the spirit of a ‘Small Warrior’, telling us that chivalry knows no age.

Yash Kinare:

Is there a better view of the Bandra-Worli Sea-Link? I don’t think so!

Yash captures reflections in the rain!

Another side to the fishermen and women in Mumbai! This is indeed a spectacular photograph.

Himesh Kotak:

Himesh captures a splendid photograph of the seagulls by Marine Drive.

Prajakta Gawli:

Capturing the calmness by the sea, Prajakta says,
“Mumbai is known as a city of dreams. It is like a hand-painted dream, we know it's not perfect but still, we truly love it and value it! We accept the fact that yes there are many problems we face in daily life but still we won't give up!!”

“Nightlife is the best in Mumbai! People talk about how crowded Mumbai is. However, it’s the crowd that makes us feel both secured and protected as there's an undefined bond with it! If we ever find trains empty we wonder if everything's okay? In this city, one never feels. That's how comfortable we are with this crowd!
