Apple launched the iPhone 11 series on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Cupertino, California in a glitzy event lead by Apple CEO Tim Cook. 

The launch comes one year after Apple launched the iPhone XS, and two years since its last radical redesign with the iPhone X model. Users waiting for a 5G iPhone are likely to be disappointed. According to the latest reports, Apple is holding off until it launches three 5G phones in 2020. 


What are the new iPhones called?

The three 2019 flagship phones are officially called iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

iPhone 11 comes with a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina Display, a dual camera system with a 12-megapixel wide camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max have triple rear cameras. The iPhone 11 Pro has two display sizes -- 5.8 inches and 6.5 inches. The display resolution is 458ppi. The iPhone 11 Pro supports HDR10, spatial audio, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. Its display is called Super Retina. iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max have four and five hours longer battery life than their predecessors respectively. The triple rear camera comprises a 12-megapixel wide angle camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, and a telephoto camera as well.

How expensive are the new iPhones? 

The iPhone XR successor (iPhone 11) will start at $699 (Approx ₹50,000) for the base model with 64GB internal storage and will also come in 128GB and 256GB storage variants priced that will be priced $799 (approx ₹57,500) and $899 (approx ₹64,700), respectively.

The Phone 11 Pro will start at $999 (approx ₹71,000) for the 128GB storage option and will go up to $1,299 (approx ₹86,000) for the 512GB storage variant. The iPhone 11 Pro Max will also come with 128GB storage for the base model that will cost $1,099 (approx ₹79,000) and will go up to $1,299 (approx ₹93,500) for the 512GB version.

Indian prices of the iPhone 11-series will likely be higher than the US prices, as is typically the case with Apple products. 

Also, the prices for iPhone 8 and iPhone XR have dropped after the announcement of new phones.
