The Ban Chinese sentiment has been running high in the country as things between India and China continue to be tense. 

In a recent clash, India lost 20 soldiers in the Galwan Valley. While there were casualties on the Chinese side as well but the Chinese officials have not shared any information regarding the same. 

Soon after this, the Government of India decided to ban 59 Chinese apps, which included apps like SHAREit and TikTok. 

TikTok was one of the most used apps in India among the other 59 apps which were banned. According to Global Times TikTok's mother company, ByteDance could have faced the loss of around $6 billion due to this ban. TikTok had a user base of 200 million users in India.
