After a successful career in Colors TV's Sasural Simar Ka and Bigg Boss, popular TV actress, Dipika Kakar, is keen on starting her journey as Parvati in Star Plus' new show, Kahan Hum Kahan Tum. She will be seen opposite Karan V Grover and will play the role of an actress even in the show. Conceptualised by Sandip Sikand, the show revolves around the lives of two people who belong to two different professions, but manage their everyday schedule despite the ups and downs they face.

In an exclusive interaction with MumbaiLive, Dipika shares some information about the character, show and her thoughts on why people would like this new Star Plus daily. On being asked if playing an actress in a show was a cakewalk, she said, "Being an actress, it is not easy to play an actress on-screen. We are used to tweaking our style on a regular basis, and so during the workshop, I was constantly told to be a bit natural. So I had to unlearn and learn again for this show, but I'm glad about the outcome. I come from a space where there was a lot of supernatural and fantasy aspects in my shows earlier. With Kahan Hum Kahan Tum, I did unlearn the technical aspects to be natural in the show, as an actress."

The show has a progressive approach to the life many of us live today, and hence this makes it relatable in many ways. Talking about what made her choose the same, she said, "There were many reasons behind choosing this show. Sandip called me for the first meeting before Bigg Boss, and he gave me a one-liner. We couldn't shoot then and something did not work out for Sandip as well. So, once I was back, he called me again and we met. That's when I realised that if someone like him, who is experienced in the TV space, shows interest and belief, it boosts an actors belief in their craft. I heard the story of the show and liked it."

Adding to this thought, she also stressed on how it is important for the content space to evolve and expand on the TV medium. "I think variety is important on TV, as there is an audience for this kind of show. A person will love watching supernatural shows as it keeps them intrigued. So, I believe there should be all kinds of shows, keeping the variety for the audience. it should serve different genres of content," she said.

The actress also believes that the show will also break the myth, by showing that a lot of hard work that goes behind being an actress, and they not just focused on being glamorous. The conversation ended on a note, where Dipika summarised her 10-year long acting career and said, "It has been a great journey and I'm very thankful to my fans. I'm more than satisfied, and I'm happy in the current space. I live in the present and I'll work hard in making this show successful."
