The megablock on January 20 and January 27 has been planned keeping the construction at Parel railway station in mind, and this can affect the schedule of long-distance trains.

Keeping the construction at Parel railway station in mind, the central railway (CR) administration recently announced that the services carried out by local trains will reduce in the city. Adding to this, CR has declared mega block on January 20 and 27, 2019.

The authorities had earlier announced that Parel station will become a terminus before March 2019. However, it now plans to end the construction work till the end of January. Parel station is being transformed into a terminus to provide ease to commuters which will provide them access to locals starting from Parel bound towards Thane, Kalyan.

Due to the construction work, the railway administration has announced a nine-hour mega block on Jan 20 and a five-hour mega block on Jan 27, which can also hamper the schedule of lost distance trains bound towards Nashik and Pune.
