The people travelling to the city will now have to bear increased tolls as from October 1, toll rates at all five Mumbai entrances will be increased by ₹5 to ₹25.

These toll plazas are located at five entrances namely, Mulund, Vashi, Dahisar, Airoli and Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg in Mumbai. These toll plazas have been set up to recover the cost of construction of 55 flyovers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region between the years 2002 to 2027. Toll rates are increased every three years as per the agreement with the State Road Development Corporation. Accordingly, the toll rate is to be been increased from October 1. Moreover, the single fare for light vehicles like cars and jeeps has been increased by ₹5 to ₹40.

As per reports, toll rates for minibuses or medium vehicles carrying 12 to 20 passengers will be increased by ₹10 to ₹65. Toll rates for trucks and buses have been increased from ₹105 to ₹130. The toll for heavy vehicles has been increased from ₹135 to ₹60. Furthermore, passic passes for light vehicles have also increased. The monthly pass for 5 noses will now be ₹1,500 instead of ₹1,400.

New toll rates:

  • Small Vehicles - ₹40
  • Medium Heavy Vehicles - ₹65
  • Trucks and buses - ₹130
  • Heavy vehicles - ₹160
