The Terminal 1 (T1) of Mumbai Airport is set to resume domestic operation starting from tomorrow, October 13.

The passenger traffic was enough for people to worry about the airport becoming a reason for a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Following the event, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) issued a statement acknowledging the situation. The airport added that in order to prevent a repeat of such a situation, the operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Terminal 1 are resuming from October 13 itself, preponing the resumption of operations by a week. Earlier, the it was planned to resume operation from October 20.

Go First will be the first airline to start operations from the T1 Terminal of Mumbai Airport from 13th October 2021. Meanwhile, Air Asia flights will start operations from October 16.

Moreover, it came to light that the weekend travellers who booked flights for morning travel from the Mumbai airport were met with an abdominal scene at Terminal 2 where disorder transpired with exceedingly lengthy queues at the security and check-in counters, stated reports.

Many travellers are claimed to have missed their flights since the crowd at the security counters hindered them from getting to their boarding gates in time.

According to accounts, passengers elaborated that with the festivities, the travel season will commence and they were of the opinion that the city airport isn’t prepared to manage the crowd, especially on weekends.
