Air India has been doing the rounds on Twitter for all the wrong reasons off late. The airlines have received two complaints of bed bugs- infested seats in a week and have cited the reason being the current weather conditions.
Saumya Shetty, who had flown business class to Mumbai from Newark on July 18, suffered bed bug bites all over her body. She tweeted about her experience and wrote to the airlines as well. She said that the airlines attended to her grievances only after she paid a visit to their Nariman Point office on Tuesday.

The national carrier sent her a compensation email and stated that their engineering department has assured that the rigorous fumigation of the entire aircraft is done at regular intervals. Further, Air India said that the infestation must have happened due to current weather conditions.
Air India has offered to refund 75 per cent of her fare and apologised for the inconvenience.
