An MD11 Flight FX5033 Reportedly Suffers Runway Excursion in Mumbai

A 29-year-old, MD-11 aircraft, bearing registration number N583FE has reportedly overran the Runway 14 in Mumbai by about 9 meters. There is no reported damage to the tri-engine aircraft or the airport infrastructure. The operations at the Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport are already affected due to the curtailed operations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Cyclone Nisarga.

The flight was operating Bangalore- Mumbai route with a flying time of about 1 hour and 14 minutes. The cargo flight was to leave for Dubai from Mumbai, as per FlightRadar24. FedEx MD-11 are regular visitors to Mumbai thanks to the Cargo operations. These tri-engine planes are some of the favourites for plane spotters thanks to their unique configuration.



The FedEx MD-11 is registered in the US and landed in Mumbai at about 12:13 PM.
