Meanwhile, it is also observed that a large number of tourists come to Mumbai every day. However, on the occasion of Diwali, people flock to markets like Veer Kotwal Udyan (Dadar), Bandra, Mahatma Phule Market, Kalbadevi, APMC Market (Vashi) in Mumbai for shopping.

Accordingly, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has announced heritage tour trips in Open deck buses will be operated from 7 am onwards during Diwali vacation with effect from October 22, 2022.

In an official statement, the transport body clarified that the tour trips cover sightseeing spots included Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum, Mantralaya, Vidhan Bhawan, NCPA, Marine Drive, Chowpatty, Churchgate Station, Oval Maidan, Rajabai Tower, Bombay High Court, University of Mumbai, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Headquarters, Hutatma Chowk, Horniman Circle, Reserve Bank of India Asiatic Library and the Old Custom House.

"The BEST has planned to operate the Heritage tour trips in open deck buses every hour from October 22 at 7.00 am to give Mumbaikars and tourists a morning view of Mumbai. Commuters can get more information at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk bus depot. Apart from that, information about the Heritage tour trips can also be obtained by calling the toll-free numbers of BEST: 1800 227550 and 022-24190117. The tickets will also be available on the Book My Show app," the BEST undertaking said in a press release.

However, all Mumbaikars and tourists are urged to take maximum advantage of this. For those unversed, the Heritage tour trips in open deck buses were started in November 2021 for tourists.

Moreover, for the convenience of such passengers, 25 additional buses will be run on various bus routes till Saturday, October 23, 2022 on behalf of BEST initiative.

Similarly, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, both the days of Bhaubij and Balipratipada (Padwa) are coming together. Hence, on this day, the BEST initiative has decided to provide 140 additional bus services in the whole Mumbai city, especially in both East-West areas, on the Western Expressway, Bhayander and Navi Mumbai bus routes.

However, an appeal is being made on behalf of the BEST initiative that passengers must take advantage of these bus services.
