BEST services to be suspended for Mumbai Marathon

The Traffic Police have announced road restrictions for the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon taking place on January 21. On this note, The BEST won’t be able to run its service on 11 routes from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM

In order to ensure a smooth conduct of the Tata Mumbai marathon 2018 and the safety of participants and to maintain a smooth flow of vehicular traffic, the Traffic Police have announced road restrictions for the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport (BEST) buses. According to this regulation, BEST won’t be able to run its services on 11 routes from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Apart from keeping some of the BEST buses shut, some bus routes will be diverted temporarily to make way for the marathon.


Full Marathon

During the full marathon, vehicular traffic will not be allowed on roads between Mahapalika Marg at CST and Bandra Reclamation between 6:00 am and 1:00 pm. However, vehicular access will be provided in case of emergencies. 


Half Marathon

Roads between Rang Sharda Auditorium at Bandra and Mahapalika Marg at CST will be closed to vehicular traffic between 6:00 am and 1:00 pm. But ambulances carrying patients, fire brigades and vehicles of essential services carrying milk, gas, and vegetables can use these routes.

During the wheelchair marathon, roads between CST and Churchgate will remain closed to vehicular traffic. However, vehicular access will be provided in case of emergencies.

Parking for all types of vehicles will be prohibited on both sides of LT Marg, Shahid Bhagat Singh Road, Mahapalika Marg, DN Road, D Tata Road, Babulnath Road, PD' Mello Road, Madam Cama Road, Pedder Road, Dr. Annie Besant Road, E. Moses Road between 5:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Parking on both sides will be prohibited at Gokhale Road, Ranade Road, Swantantraveer Sawarkar Road, Senapati Bapat Road in Dadar between 5:00 am to 2:00 pm. Parking will also be prohibited on the Bandra Reclamation Road
