Central Railways (CR) have decided to run 52 more special trains for Ganeshotsav this year as well in order to cater increased passenger demand.

These special trains will run on Diva-Chiplun and Mumbai-Mangaluru routes. This has brought the total number of special trains running during the festive period to 208.

36 rounds of Diva-Chiplun Memu

Train No. 01155 will leave Memu Diva station at 7.45 pm daily and reach Chiplun at 1.25 midnight the next day. 01156 return journey will start at 1 PM and will reach Diva station at 9 PM.

The train will run between 13th to 19th September and 22nd September to 3rd October. This train will have eight MEMU coaches.

Halts: It will have stops at Panvel, Pen, Roha, Kolad, Indapur, Mangaon, Goregaon Road, Veer, Sape Vamane, Karanjadi, Vinhere, Diwankhawati, Kalambani Budruk, Khed and Anjani.

16 Rounds of Mumbai-Mangaluru Special Express:

Special train 01165 will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 10.15 pm and reach Mangaluru at 5.40 pm the next day. It will run on September 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 29 and 30.

01166 return journey will depart at 6.40 PM and reach LTT at 1.35 PM. It will be a 20-coach train. It has been scheduled on September 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 30 and October 1.

Halts: Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sawarda, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Advali, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon, Karwar, Gokarna Road, Kumta, The stops will be Murudeshwar, Bhatkal, Mukambika Road Byandur, Kundapura, Udupi, Mulki, Surathkal and Thokur.

Composition: 1 AC-2 Tier, 2 AC-3 Tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 5 General Second Class, and 2 General Second class cum Guard’s Brake Van.

Reservation

The booking of tickets for special trains have been opened from July 3 at all computerized reservation centers and on the IRCTC website.
