Winters have set in Mumbai and Mumbaikars have started witnessing foggy (rather smoggy) mornings. Where Mumbaikars are enjoying winters, foggy mornings have started affecting the Central Railway line.
Considering fog, motormen have been running local trains at the lowest speed in order to avert untoward incidents. This has resulted in delayed trains and frustrated commuters. Hence, CR has decided to change the morning timetable of local trains.

The meeting took place on Thursday where it was decided that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSTM)- bound local trains leaving from Kasara, Karjat, Khopoli will leave 10-15 minutes early from their scheduled time in mornings.
One of the CR officials added that the same would be announced at railway stations in coming days. Meanwhile, during a meeting, rail passenger association suggested that CR should not give a way to express trains by stopping local trains.
