According to the latest reports, to see to it that rainwater does not cause technical issues in the Air-Conditioned (AC) locals during monsoon, Central Railways will be waterproofing all of its AC locals. By means of the waterproofing, it will be ensured that the rainwater does not enter the train's roof and the motorcoach. 

A senior Central Railway official was quoted in an account by HT elaborating on how waterproofing is undertaken for additional safety to see to it that rainwater does not enter it during monsoon. He added that since the electrical system isn't present in the underslung, little waterlogging on the railway tracks will not have an effect on its operation. 

In addition to this, the zonal railway has floated a tender for the same and will commence the waterproofing work soon, mentioned narratives. 

In other developments, considering the rise in the passenger ridership in AC local trains, the railways proclaimed to convoy air-conditioned locomotives with upgraded seating arrangements and increased space for passengers on the suburban railway tracks by 2023.

Moreover, Railways have decided to permanently augment One First AC, One AC 2-Tier and One AC 3-Tier coach respectively in Dadar-Hubballi, Nagpur-Indore and Nagpur-Dr. Ambedkar Nagar trains.
