Mumbai's CSIA is one of busiest airports of the country and many international airlines offer their services to-and-from Mumbai. As per a recent announcement, US-based Delta Airline, announced non-stop flights between Mumbai and New York City’s John F Kennedy (JFK) airport.

The 15-hour flight, DL25, will begin from December 24, and take off from Mumbai at 12:55 am and the return would reach Mumbai at 10:50 pm.

Announcing the same, Jimmy Eichelgruen, Delta’s director sales, India, said, “New York City has the highest number of Indian-Americans. In 2018, there were approximately 1.38 million overseas visitors from India to the United States, making it the 10th highest visiting nation. India was also third in terms of growth rate at 7.2% for the year, according to U.S. Government data.”

Similar services were started by Air India in 2018, but they were discontinued later as Pakistan's airspace was close and the operations of the same did not resume. However, Air India and United Airlines, currently non-stop fly from Mumbai to New Jersey (New ark).

It is also said that Vistara and Air India have signed an interline agreement with Delta airlines, and this move aims to attract more Indians. as Vistara and Air India would be able to both issue and accept tickets as a part of the deal with the partner airline.
