A fire broke out in the monorail due to a short circuit at Mysore colony station, Wadala at 5:20 am on Thursday. In this fire, Monorail's two compartments were badly affected.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority's (MMRDA) co-operation director (Public Relations) Dilip Kawathkar said while talking to Mumbai Live, there was no news of any casualties in the accident. The monorail was empty during the morning hours. However, the fire has now been controlled.

The Monorail service has been affected and it is likely to resume again in the afternoon. There were three fire engines on the spot.
Back in July, two mono railway trains had come face-to-face on the same route, which led to a major accident.
