Keeping in mind the ongoing Ganpati festival, Central and Western Railways have decided to not have any mega block this Sunday, September 9. Every Sunday, the local trains announce a mega block to undertake maintenance work. Central Railways has decided to give a complete skip to the maintenance tasks for this week, while Western Railways has rescheduled it.

On Western Railway, the mega block with for four hours and will be undertaken on Up and Down slow lines from 12:30 am-midnight to 4.30 am during the intermittent night of Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8 between Vasai Road and Virar stations. This will ensure that the weekly maintenance is carried out and the commuters will not have to face challenges while traveling on Sunday.

In addition to this, Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) have announced that they will run 36 additional services over this weekend and on September 12. September 12 is the last day of Ganpati Visarjan. For the sake of commuters, BEST too has announced that they will be running 18 additional busses in this time frame.  So be mindful of these while traveling all through today to September 12.
