It’s finally a yes from the Central Environment Forest Department for the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro-3 project for a station in both BKC and Dharavi. As told by Ashwini Bhide, the Managing Director of the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation, this approval has been granted to the corporation itself. It was due to the non-approval of the Central Environmental Forest Department that the construction work was simply stuck in both the stations.

A total of 27 stations will be constructed for the project of Metro-3. Further, a station of 0.34 hectare will be built for the area for Dharavi, and for BKC the area will be of 0.91 hectares. Turns out, to carry on with the construction of the station for these areas, cutting off of the Mangroves was required for which a nod from the Central Environmental Forest Department was needed.
