Harbour line services of the Central Railway, which had been disrupted due to a break in the crossing point near Chembur railway station, were restored after one and half hours this morning.

The fault was detected at 8 am throwing rail services out of gear and inconveniencing office goers. While the fault was corrected by 9.30 am, trains continued to run 20 to 25 minutes behind schedule.

Commuters' association representative Shailesh Raut pointed out that while the passengers bear the brunt of regular mega blocks, such incidents make a mockery of the CR's exercises in maintaining services.
