In an innovative initiative, the newly-launched Mumbai Metro Line 2A and 7, which runs between Dahisar and Andheri, two stations are fully being managed by women staffers.
With this, Akurli on line 2A and Eksar on line 7 becomes city’s first stations to bring such inventiveness to action. Both Akurli and Eksar metro stations are currently run by a total of 76 women staff.
This initiative was taken by the Mumbai Metropolitian Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and Maha Mumbai Metro Rail Operation Corporation (MMMOCL).

It also aims to recognise and celebrate the contributions of women in the transportation industry and promote gender diversity and inclusivity in the workplace and the transportation sector, they added.
Moreover, for female commuters they have designated women metro coaches, washrooms, and a toll-free helpline number 1800 889 0808 too.
Apart from this, they have about 27% which is about 958 female employees working in the fields like Maintenance, HR, Finance, and admin department including outsourced staff.
