The renovation work of Khar road railway station in suburban section of Western Railway (WR) will be completed by March 2024.

Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Subhash Chand Gupta recently visited the site to review the ongoing station development works. Gupta directed the concerned authorities to complete the work before March 2024.

With the work progressing smoothly and a dedicated team working diligently, the transformation of Khar Road station is expected to be completed within the stipulated time. Once completed, the improved station will benefit numerous commuters, making their journeys more convenient and enjoyable.

During the visit, it was observed that the development works of the station are progressing at an impressive pace, approximately 60 per cent of the project has already been completed. The scope of the project includes various important aspects aimed at enhancing the overall infrastructure of the station, Sunil Udasi, Chief Public Relations Officer, MRVC told the Free Press Journal.

A new platform will also be constructed which will be on the western side of the station. The number of platforms is being increased for the convenience of passengers. Improvements are also being made to the western entrance for easy access to passengers. Moreover, four escalators and three lifts are also planned.

CMD MRVC Subhash Chand Gupta expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of the ongoing work during his visit. He appreciated the dedication and efforts of the officers and workers involved in the project.
