The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and Greater Mumbai Metro Movement Corporation (MMOCL) are working to make travel more convenient on the 'Dahisar West - Andheri West Metro 2A' and 'Dahisar East - Gundavali Metro 7' routes. Under the same, now the help of WhatsApp will be taken to provide tickets to the passengers in an easy manner. On Friday, the service of providing metro tickets on WhatsApp was started for women passengers at Gundavali metro station on 'Metro 7' route.


The 'MMMOCL' has provided multiple ticketing options for metro passengers so that they do not have to stand in queues for tickets. Tickets can be purchased from the app of MMMOCL. This facility for passengers started on Friday, October 11.

To avail this service, passengers can purchase tickets through the conversational interface by sending 'Hi' to WhatsApp number 8652635500 or by scanning the QR code at stations. For this, the ticket amount can be paid through debit card or credit card. MMMOCL has claimed that with this service, tickets will be available quickly and will provide great convenience to the passengers.


Meanwhile, passengers on 'Metro 2A' and 'Metro 7' lines are showing more inclination to use e-tickets. Of the total passengers travelling on these two routes, 62 percent use e-tickets. While three percent of passengers buy mobile QR code tickets. At the same time, the number of passengers using NCMC cards is 35 percent.
