As per reports, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) which has taken the responsibility of constructing the 337 km metro network in and around Mumbai by 2026.

The recent announcement about Mumbai Metro comes in as good news for those who have been waiting to travel on Metro 2A and Metro 7 lines. As per reports, it is learned that the first train on these lines will run in Mumbai on January 27 or 28, 2021, and the same is will be unveiled by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on January 29, 2021, after its arrival in Mumbai.

Information regarding the same will soon be shared by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) which has taken the responsibility of constructing the 337 km metro network in and around Mumbai by 2026. Out of the proposed plan, Metro 2A (DN Nagar to Dahisar) and Metro 7 (Andheri East to Dahisar East) might be operational this year.

Furthermore, the construction of Metro Trains Bangalore-based Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. (BEML) has started here. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday unveiled the first Metro train at BEML's factory. The train will leave Bangalore next week and arrive at the Charkop depot by January 27 or 28, 2021.

The vehicle will be tested in March this year and is expected to be operational in June, he said. Moreover, from February,  two trains will arrive every month, and it is learned that initially, a total of 10 trains will run on both the routes.
