Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) and Cityflo have started special feeder bus services for passengers of the newly opened Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line. The service will improve first and last-mile connectivity for commuters.
The feeder buses will initially operate from three major metro stations: Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), Worli, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). The routes are designed to connect commuters to popular commercial and residential areas.
The routes are:
- At CSMT, the buses will pass by landmarks such as Old Custom House, Lions Gate, S.P. Mukherjee Chowk, K.C. College, and Churchgate Metro Station.
- The Worli route will cover Century Mills, One Indiabulls Centre, Kamala Mills, and Peninsula Corporate Park.
- At BKC, buses will stop near NSE, Jio Garden, One BKC, and the Family Court.
During peak hours, buses will run at intervals of 10 minutes. The fare for a single ride is INR 29, while a monthly pass is available for INR 499. Commuters can book and pay for rides through the Cityflo and MetroConnect3 apps, which offer integrated ticketing for added convenience.
In a report by Indian Express, Jerin Venad, CEO of Cityflo, said the partnership with MMRC will build an integrated mobility system for Mumbai. He added that the feeder routes encourage citizens to use sustainable, shared, and technology-driven transport options.
