On Friday, February 19, over two dozen flights including 14 arrivals to the city of Mumbai were delayed due to dense fog and poor visibility in Delhi disrupting travel plans for several citizens trying to commute efficiently.
Moreover, this sent airline schedules haywire as the delays affected passengers travelling across the city, especially those bound for Mumbai. In addition, netizens took to Twitter to inform the same.
According to reports, Mumbai-Delhi is the busiest domestic route in India with about 43 daily flights running operations as of now. Meanwhile, informing the same, the IndiGo airline tweeted, “Due to the morning fog in Delhi, flights all across the network are impacted,’’

On the other hand, the coronavirus-induced suspension of scheduled international passenger flights has been extended till 11:59 pm on February 28, 2021 aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) informed on January 28. However, international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on a case-to-case basis, the DGCA added. However, this restriction will not apply to international all-cargo operations.
Scheduled international passenger services have been suspended in India since March 23 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. However, special international flights have been operating under the Vande Bharat Mission since May and under bilateral "air bubble" arrangements with selected countries since July. India has formed air bubble pacts with around 24 countries including the US, the UK, the UAE, Kenya, Bhutan and France.
