It has been a maniac Monday for a lot of people living in Mumbai Metropolitical area. Reason, grid failure that has resulted in a power cut across the majority of the region.
Due to this power outage in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Panvel areas, services of Mumbai local trains too was disrupted on three routes. The power outage disrupted local traffic on the Central, Western and Harbour routes. As a result of the same, many commuters are complaining of being stuck in the trains from 10:00 AM
Both Central and Western Railways have acknowledged the issue. Western Railways has issued a statement according to which services between Churchgate & Borivili are suspended. Since Power supply, from MSETCL available at Vasai Road & it has been extended to work essential suburban trains between Borivali to Virar section. It has also requested passengers not to panic.
1/2. In view of interruption in Traction power at 10.05 hrs due to Grid failure of Tata Power company, services btwn Churchgate & Borivili are suspended. It shall be resumed as soon as traction power supply is restored.

Apart from local trains, five long-distance trains too have been impacted. Details are as follows:
1) 09025 Bandra terminus- Amritsar clone special train which departs at 11.15 hrs is rescheduled to depart at 13.00 hrs.
2) 02925 Bandra terminus- Amritsar Pashchim Express which departs at 12.00 hrs is rescheduled to depart at 13.15 hrs.
3) 02933 Ahmedabad- Mumbai Central Karnavati Exp wl b short terminated at Borivali & wl depart from Borivali as 02934
4) 09115 Sayaji Nagri exp wl b short terminated at Borivali station & wl depart from Borivali as 09116
5) 02480 Bandra terminus- Jodhpur Surya Nagri exp which departs at 13.30 hrs is rescheduled to depart at 14.30 hrs.
Central Railways too posted about trains being held up due to the grid failure.

However, the Harbour line was restored at 10:55 AM and they are working on getting things on track.
