Within a year of its launch, Mumbai Metro Line 2A and 7 has witnessed a favourable response crossing the ridership mark of 5 crores (50 million).

From April 2, 2022, to September 24 this year, a staggering 5,05,22,330 passengers have commuted on the Andheri (West)-Dahisar-Gundavali route.

Some of the stations, such as Andheri west, Anand Nagar, Dahanukar Wadi, Dahisar (E), Kandivali (W), and Borivali (W) have emerged as commuter hotspots. Besides, Gundavali and Anand Nagar stations have also observed heavy footfall.

It is pertinent to note that the adoption of the Mumbai One Card has also been highly encouraging.

A total of 1,49,556 people have chosen this mode of payment method, which according to Maha Mumbai Metro Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) authorities, is approximately 40% of daily passengers.

This shift towards using the Mumbai One Card not only enhances convenience for commuters but also reduces the use of QR-based paper tickets, contributing to a greener environment.

MMRDA officials stated that Mumbaikars are increasingly choosing the metro as their preferred mode of transportation, and witnessing a 5% growth every month is a significant achievement.
