An important milestone in the work of the first phase of the 'Thane - Bhiwandi - Kalyan Metro 5' route undertaken by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has finally been completed. The slab work of all the stations in the first phase of Thane-Bhiwandi has been completed. So now the final works of the station and track laying will be started.


The MMRDA has started work on the 24.90 km Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan Metro 5 route to alleviate the traffic congestion in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This route is being worked on in two phases. The first stage is Thane-Bhiwandi and the second stage is Bhiwandi-Kalyan. The work of the first phase is currently underway and the work of the second phase is yet to start.  Meanwhile, the total 81.55 percent work of the first phase has been completed so far. 76.93 percent construction of six metro stations has been completed. At the same time, 82.63 percent of the viaduct work has been completed. Importantly, the MMRDA has completed an important milestone in its work by completing the slab work of six stations.

The first phase includes six stations namely Balkum Naka, Kasheli, Kalher, Purna, Anjurphata and Dhamankar Naka. The slab work of these six stations has been completed. Now the works like flooring, fall ceiling, facades of the stations are going to start. Also, the work of the track and various systems will also begin.
