On Sunday, November 28, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) stated that almost 20 per cent of its employees reported for work, highlighted reports. From the 250 bus depots in Maharashtra, 50 were partially operating, from which 1,108 buses functioned.

From the 92,266 personnel, 18,375 reported for duty on Sunday which is believed to be the highest since Anil Parab, the Maharashtra Transport Minister proclaimed a pay rise of nearly 41 per cent on the basic salaries.

This is believed to be an attempt from the government’s side to end the strike. Certain accounts elaborate on how an official from the MSRTC stated that additional workers will be reporting to work Monday, November 29, onwards.

The authority expects that at least 30,000 employees will report back to duty. Additionally, accounts state that the body has registered 50 FIRs with 31 cases of bus vandalism since the strike commenced.

On one hand, the MSRTC is alleging that additional employees intend to report back to work, protestors claim that the government is utilizing pressure tactics by means of suspension and termination, to break the strike.

Until Sunday, the corporation had suspended 6,497 staffers, whilst 1,525 workers were terminated. Additionally, according to reports, the president of Sangharsh ST Kamgar Union, Shashank Rao, proclaimed an indefinite hunger strike from Monday.
