Vande Bharat Express will now be seen in a new colour. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave the first glimpse of it to the nation on Saturday. He has shared many pictures of the new Vande Bharat on his Twitter handle. In the new look, the Vande Bharat will see a colour combination of saffron, white and black. Currently, the colour of this semi-high-speed train is blue and white. The Railway Minister had reached the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai. Railway Minister Vaishnav said that the saffron colour is inspired by the tricolour.


Railway Minister Vaishnav said that more than 25 improvements have been made to the Vande Bharat train so far. During this period, Minister Vaishnav interacted with senior officers and employees on production and other technical matters. ICF commissioned the country's first semi-high speed Vande Bharat train in 2018-19. It was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi between New Delhi and Varanasi. In the second week of October 2022, ICF achieved the distinction of rolling over 70,000 coaches since its inception in 1955, the most by any passenger coach manufacturer in the world.

The new Bhagavi Vande Bharat Express is yet to be commissioned and is currently parked at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, where Vande Bharat trains are manufactured. Railway officials told ANI that a total of 25 rakes of Vande Bharat Express are operating on their scheduled route and two rakes are reserved. However, he said that the colour  of this 28th rake is being changed as a trial run.



Inauguration of special trains connecting heritage sites

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Saturday unveiled special trains running on heritage routes across the country. More such trains will be started on heritage routes, the Union Minister said after inspecting the train converted as a steam loco train at MGR Central Railway Station.
