Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been a very effective person when it comes to utilisation of digital platforms. In order to promote digital payments, Minister for Information and Technology had advised the railways to extend the incentive until June 30.
The service charge on booking of train tickets through IRCTC ranges between Rs 20 and Rs 40 respectively. The government took the decision post demonetisation to foster digital modes of payment for booking.
