On Sunday, May 1, the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) reportedly announced that it would be running AC buses for south Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai, round the clock, starting Monday, May 2.
BEST General Manager, Lokesh Chandra was quoted in narratives elaborating on how this is being undertaken considering the public demand. Therefore, they are looking to provide electric AC buses which while having premium fares, will be more comfortable and economical than other modes of AC transport in Mumbai.
The authority took to Twitter to say, “Buses operating from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) to South Mumbai, Vashi & Thane, will now be available 24X7 from the night of 1st May 22 onwards.

The services at night include, airport to Backbay: 11pm, 1am, 3am, 5am, and 7am, Backbay to airport: 12am, 2am, 4am, 6am and 8 am. Airport to Vashi: 11:15pm, 1:15am, 3:15am, 5:15am, and 7:15 am. Vashi to Airport: 12.15 am, 2:15 am, 4.15 am, 6:15 am and 8.15 am. Airport to Thane: 11.30 pm, 1.30 am, 3.30 am, 5.30 am and 7.30 am. Thane to Airport: 12.30 am, 2.30 am, 4.30 am, 6.30 am and 8.30 am.
The BEST also declared that these timings could alter in accordance with the patronage. Moreover, based on the response garnered, the services will be increased and operated every 60 minutes.
