One rupee clinic to be set up at CR stations

The rate of mishaps and accidents has alerted the railway. In connection with this one rupee clinic will be inaugurated at Central and Harbour railway stations. The stations which will have this clinic are Dadar, Ghatkopar, Mulund, Kurla and Wadala. The aim of one rupee clinic is to provide medical treatment to the general public and accident victims at stations.

The project has started off at five stations, by August this year 19 more clinics will be opened. On regular basis, 100 commuters will be treated at the stations. There will be a pathological lab offering tests at discounted rates. Central Railway will only provide water, electricity and space. The other expenses which include manpower and equipment will be borne by the agency setting up the clinic.
