The current Mumbai metro services between Versova and Ghatkopar is operated by Mumbai Metro One. They have now gone a step further in offering seamless transport facilities to its commuters through the One Mumbai Metro Card which it launched on Thursday with Mastercard and Axis Bank.

They claim that this card can not only be used for metro travel, but also other commuting facilities such as those of BEST and local train. According to the company, an ingenious chip-based card, much like a common card with e-balance and wallet-based balance has been introduced.

The citizens will be able to benefit from contactless, cashless travel. This pre-paid card will enable them to transit with just a click. This card which can be bought at Mumbai Metro station counters can also be utilized at certain restaurants, grocery stores, medicines as well as while shopping.

Users will be able to customise their cards following their needs. The company has also gone a step further to ensure that whilst these services are provided to the customers, safety standards are also met. This can be seen as a giant leap towards a digital model of transit assistance with a plethora of other services also falling under its purview. The company hopes that this mode soon becomes the new normal for every commuter.
