Causing major inconvenience to the office-goers, who commute by Mumbai local, on the first working day of the week, Monday, May 9, all train services have been delayed between both the stations by 10-15 minutes due to technical glitch.

Owing to this, a heavy rush was witnessed at Dahisar and Borivali stations. According to an official statement released by the Western Railways (WR), the line was affected due to the breakdown of overhead wire between both the between Borivali and Dahisar stations.

The incident took place around 5:50 am in the morning. As a result, hundreds of commuters were stranded in local trains and on platforms of various stations during the morning rush hour. Senior railway officials also reached the spot. 

The official statement by the Western Railways, read, "Due to overhead electric wire breakdown between Dahisar - Borivali at 5.50 hrs all the UP through trains are being diverted through UP local line. UP fast locals delayed by 15 min."

"The restoration work in progress and will be completed soon. Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," the statement further read.

After some time, the Western Railways took to Twitter to inform that the restoration work has been completed. The tweet read, "Technical problem in overhead Wire between Dahisar & Borivali has been put right at 25 hrs."

However, despite that all fast and slow train services remained delayed till 8 am, reports stated. While the passenger rush was cleared, the Borivali-bound Churchgate trains were observed to be crowded than usual days.
