The Indian railways in a recent announcement regarding the new set of trains informed that Indians across the country will now be able to travel in the most-anticipated Vande Bharat Express. As per reports, the first service of the express started its journey from Mumbai Central on Friday, September 30 2022 in the evening at 7:35 pm.

Heading to Gandhinagar in Gujarat, the services of the train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the morning on Saturday. However, the train halted it service at Ahmedabad at 2pm, as it was the boarding point on the first day. Officials from the concerned department have said the trains have been strategically designed and developed to avoid collision and hence, a certain set of systems have been implemented during the design phase. A report regarding the flag off was published in the Hindustan Times recently which quoted an official from the Western Railway, who said, "The train will reach the speed 100 km per hour in 52 seconds and can run at a maximum speed of 180 km per hour. Wi-Fi will be provided at an extra cost."

Officials also informed the several passengers were very excited to board the first Vande Bharat Express and experience the new form of journey. Several reservations were also made in the morning, especially by those who often travel at this hour. Authorities said that the passengers can board the normal glass or the executive class in the train. The seats in the chair-car have been given blue colour while the ones an executive class have been given grey and additional leg space. The train began its journey officially from October 1, 2022, and bookings for the same opened on September 30, 2022. 

The Vande Bharat Express from Mumbai will leave at 6:10 AM the departure will be from Mumbai Central. The train will reach Gandhinagar at 12:30 pm, the return journey will begin at 2:05 PM and reach Mumbai Central at 8:35 PM. The trains will run between Mumbai and Gandhinagar on 6 days a week except Sunday.

Passengers who boarded the first train gave positive reviews about the train, comfortable journey, and the meals served on board. The first journey included only a few vegetarian food items, however, additional options will also available in the next few days.
