Mumbai - Indian railways are one of the world's largest railway networks. But the heavily congested suburban railway network is always under pressure. Breakdowns and regular delays result in passenger inconvenience and protests.
Railway officers too come in support of passengers protesting and shouting 'Rail roko'.
The railway will take strict action against all those employees who will be part of Rail roko andolan. Railways will file complaints under non-bailable sections against these workers apart from departmental inquiries. Central Railway PRO A K Jain said that in future, the officer incharge of the section can take direct action against employees participating in such rail roko protests.
This action has been taken by the railways in view of the regular protests happening off late resulting in temporary breakdown of rail services.
So hence forth, railway employees will have to face the heat if they support such protests, even if their demands may be authentic.
