Wadala- The Wadala Railway Police held a meeting with the residents of the slums from the Garib Rahiwasi Sangh in Chembur west railway station on Thursday.

The meeting was called to increase awareness among residents about  the recent anti-social activities on the Diva - Panvel Trans Harbour railway, and increasing number of railway accidents on the Central Railway. The Wadala Railway police called a meeting near the railway tracks to make people aware of the problems first hand.

Around 50 slum dwellers were gathered for the meeting. As a precautionary measure, the Railway Police have warned people to keep an eye on the acts on or near the railway tracks so as to avoid any untoward incidents.

The Wadala Railway Police Sub Inspector Sadashiv Khot has also warned people not to throw balloons or colours during the Holi festival at running trains. A helpline number 9833331111 has been put into place to tackle emergencies.
