Railways have stopped AC booking

Mumbai- After PM announced the demonetization, many people got tensed about exchanging their Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes. Long queues were seen outside the bank and ATM. Chemists also back out from exchanging notes and people went frenzy. However, some of them find out ways out of it. People booked AC coaches in railways and later cancelled it. So, railways had to give refund and likewise, people got the change. When railways got to know about this they stopped selling the tickets for three days. They have informed the passengers that if they have to cancel tickets worth more than Rs. 50 thousand then they have to display their pan card. On a single day of 8th November, railway did the transaction of Rs. 80 lakhs. “We have stopped booking of AC tickets which are in a waiting list and will be closed till 12th November. However, we will start from 13th November”, said K David, PRO of Western Railway PRO.
