Notably, after the Prabhadevi (Elphinstone Road) stampede which claimed 23 lives in 2017, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had first suggested having CCTV Cameras with live tracking feature.

He had further suggested that there should be a feature that would enable the nearest police station to also get the real-time updates.
