Mumbai- Railways has started the work of construction of new foot over bridges and the repair of old ones. The ever increasing number of commuters and increasing crowds daily at railway stations, people were finding it difficult to even walk in and out of raliway stations.
Decision was taken to construct new foot over bridge on the seven platforms of the Western line, whereas Central Railway decided of repair the foot over bridges at various stations on priority.
The stations on the Western line on which new foot over bridges are being constructed are Lower Parel, Elphinstone, Goregaon, Bandra, Nallasopara, Virar.
On Central line, Dadar, Bhandup, Mumbra, Diva are the stations on which the repair work of the old foot over bridges is going to take place.
New foot over the bridges which will be connecting all the platforms will be constructed at Dadar Terminus and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus railway stations.
In a chat with Mumbai Live, Western railway authorities have shared information that a sum of Rs. 33 lakh 48 thousand has been allocated for the Western Railways in this Budget.
