On December 16, MSRTC started its Shiveneri AC bus service from Mumbai Airport to Pune. However, the service had few takers on the first day. According to sources one of the major reason for the service to have limited takers was that people were not aware of this service.

One week down the line, things have changed drastically for this bus service. “There was a problem in publicising the bus service at the airport and many flyers could not locate the bus stop on the first two days. However, subsequently, the passenger count went up to 20. It then rose to 30 passengers on December 20 and 59 passengers on Saturday-—which included eight passengers arriving at the airport and taking buses in the morning, and 22 passengers opting for the bus service in the evening,” an official told Times of India.

These Shivneri and Shivshahi air-conditioned bus service start from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport Terminus-1 to Pune and Dapoli. There are a total of 17 services to Swargate (Pune) and three services to Dapoli. Keeping this update in mind, an official logo panel of the State Transport Corporation and a website with the State Transport Corporation and a toll-free number have been provided for commuter's convenience.

MSRTC will start the Pune AC service at 5.30 am. The bus for Dapoli will commence at 7.30 am. The price of the bus is Rs 525 if one takes till Swargate, while service to Dapoli it costs Rs 480.

The tickets for this bus service can be booked online at msrtc.maharashtra.gov.in and can call up 9800221250.

Shivneri is also looking at expanding its fleet of busses. They have recently got 24 new AC Shivneri Volvo buses and about 50 new Shivshahi buses are on their way.
