Irate passengers stop Dadar-Amritsar express owing to lack of locals

Mumbai was hit hard by the heavy rainfall on Tuesday which brought the city to a grinding halt. All means of transport were affected including Mumbai’s lifeline i.e. railways. On a fateful day, many of the passengers were stranded in locals as tracks had submerged into water. Likewise, many locals were suspended adding chaos to the situation.

The same was seen on the second day and third day of the untoward incident, where many of the locals remain suspended. Central and Western Railway officials shared that heavy rainfall disrupted 35 locals on CR and seven locals on WR. They informed that it will take another two days to resume the local trains. 

On Friday, angry residents did a rail roko by stopping Dadar-Amritsar Express in Vasind railway station as there were few locals leaving from Kasara to Mumbai. Rail roko affected other commuters who couldn't reach Kasara, Khardi, Atgaon, Aasangaon, Vasind, and Khadavli suffered.
