While the response to air-conditioned local trains has increased due to the intense summer, the season of breakdown of air-conditioned local trains on the Western Railway has been going on for the last two months and the passengers have been frustrated. On Monday, the air-conditioning system of two coaches of the Virar to Churchgate fast local broke down. Due to this, the heat became unbearable for the passengers. After some time the fault was rectified and the local route was restored.
Western Railway frequently advertises air-conditioned local trains. On the other hand, the passengers have to travel inconveniently. Passengers are upset with the management of Western Railway as they are not getting the benefit of a comfortable journey despite paying more money.

The air-conditioning system in two coaches of the Virar to Churchgate fast local broke down at 12.20 pm on Monday. As the doors of the air-conditioned local train were closed, the passengers gasped for breath. Passengers started having difficulty breathing. So they complained at Borivali station. After that a team from the engineering department of Western Railway repaired the fault. However, the air-conditioning system was started in a single compartment. The system in the second compartment remained off. Eventually the local was sent to Churchgate. Due to this incident, many locals heading towards Churchgate were stuck in a backlog. Also the fast local service was running 10 to 15 minutes late.
