Chief Minister Eknath Shinde inspected the Mumbai Coastal Road and Prime Minister Modi announced that there will be no toll on the Mumbai-Worli Coastal Road.


Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that no toll will be charged between the Mumbai-Worli Coastal Road. On Sunday, January 7, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde inspected the Coastal Road. During this, he also said that the work of a tunnel will be completed by January 31.

The government has decided to charge a toll of INR 250 on the Sewri Nhava Sheva Trans Harbour Link. This decision was opposed by the opposition, but now the Chief Minister has announced that no toll will be levied on the Mumbai-Worli Coastal Road. Meanwhile, it is also being said that this route will soon be available to Mumbaikars.


The Coastal road will start on January 31. A coastal road tunnel from Marine Drive to Worli Sea-Face will be completed by January 31 and will be inaugurated soon. The work of the second tunnel will be completed by May 2024. State-of-the-art technology has been used in both the tunnels. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that in case of an accident or fire, the smoke will be vented out.



The 10.58 km coastal road from Princess Street Flyover to Bandra Worli Sea Link has been divided into three packages.


  • Princess Street Bridge – Priyadarshini Park = 4.05 km
  • Priyadarshini Park to Baroda Palace = 3.82 km
  • Baroda Palace to Bandra Worli Link = 2.71 km
