In what can be called a regular day in a Central Railway commuter's life, the train service on the railway line faced a delay of 20-30 minutes during rush hour on Thursday. The train service between Kalyan and Thane was affected the most as thousands of passengers on the train were clueless about the delay and were waiting for the local trains to resume the journey.
According to reports, the delay was faced after the level-crossing gate at Kalwa remained open for 15 minutes, i.e. from 10:45 am to 11:00 am. After which, the office-goers were left stranded as the train service had halted near Kalwa station. On the other hand, the Thane and Kalyan Railway stations were filled with passengers, leaving the stations overcrowded.

While the passengers were angry against the railway authorities, Central Railway has failed to come forward with a proper explanation.
Due to heavy road traffic, the level crossing gate between Kalva and Mumbra could not be closed. Its leading to bunching of trains. Hence the delay.

The issue of level-crossing at Kalwa is an age-old trouble but the rail authorities have offered nothing but more promises in response to the issues raised by the commuters.
